We need your support.

Our projects receive no financial support from the government. As a 100% volunteer team, we rely on the generosity of our supporters to keep our projects running.

If you can, please make a donation to keep our centres in Greece running. Every cent or penny donated is spent on our education programmes. Help support our work and ensure we can continue making a real difference to lives of hundreds of refugees.

The 2019 campaign

Throughout November and December of 2018, we ran a large campaign to secure the future of AFE’s projects in Greece for 2019. We have been overwhelmed by support from so many individuals and have reached our public goal of £30,000.

This money ensures our projects in Chios and Athens can continue for the coming months, and enables us to respond directly to worsening conditions on Samos island.

However, we are far from reaching what we need. Please consider giving a one-off donation, or setting up a monthly gift of £5.

Our strategy

We welcome recent decisions by authorities to enrol children up to the age of 14 in Greek schools. However, this leaves many teenagers and young adults without access to education, and we are determined to continue to provide this through our non-formal education and youth centres. On Chios and Samos, we will fight to offer an alternative to the camp for hundreds of youth.

In Athens, we are committed to empowering women to develop and acquire new skills. From January to June, we will continue our work alongside Action for Women to provide the education pillar of The Halcyon Days project.
